Take a private guided tour of Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park from your Hotel. The tour starts with a departure from the hotel at 08:30hrs.

After pickup from your hotel, start the 1 hour-drive to the national park.

The 2,500-hectare park contains diverse habitats, including groundwater forest, coral rag forest, mangrove swamps, and salt marshes.

Venture into the jungle of Jozani Forest to spot the rare species of Red Colobus Monkeys (the most famous and endearing residents of the park) as they swing and howl in the trees.

Jozani forest lies in a shallow trough in a fossil coral bed between the mangrove filled bays of Chwaka and Uzi.

The park is home to many unique animals such as Adder’s duiker, Sykes’ monkeys, bush babies.

Butterfly Center:

Pass by the enchanting butterfly center that protects numerous over 50 species of Zanzibar indigenous butterfly and 40 species of birds. This center is a huge tropical garden with net walls and roof. You can see the various life circle stages of the butterfly, including beautiful cocoons.

Seasonal flooding and a high-water table have given rise to a unique ground water forest.
